new referee

new referee

NVSC is planning to host referee classes over the winter in an effort to increase our pool of referees for both travel and recreational matches.  As an incentive, NVSC is offering $30 reimbursement toward your referee classes once you have completed 8 matches for NVSC and another $55 for completing 15 matches (resulting in a complete reimbursement of your $85 referee class fee). This reimbursement is for refereeing matches during the NVSC Spring 2022 Season.

To qualify for becoming a referee, you must be at least 13 years old.  The process to become a certified referee consists of an online module followed by an on-field exercise – we are setting up 3 dates for on-field efforts at Hellwig Park in January and February.

First, you must register with the state referee program and complete the online modules.  Once you have completed all the online modules you can transfer into a 4 hour on-field training clinic.

Upon completion of both (online and on-field), you will receive a 2022 referee badge and be eligible to referee or assistant referee recreational/travel NVSC games until December 2022 (at which time you will need to either recertify or upgrade).

The cost of the class is $85.00.

Don’t delay signing up today!

PROCESS:

Register with the state referee program at https://mdcvasrp.omgtsys.com/ .  Click on “New Member Registration.”  Once you have registered as a grassroots referee (please note your userid and password for future reference), you then need to register for the “Referee- Grassroots Entry – Online PreClinic” clinic (You should register for the SA-00-0622-PGRE class – located at the bottom of the list of clinics) and pay the $85.00 fee (which covers both the online registration fee and the on-field clinic).   When registering, use an e-mail address that you check regularly since all correspondence regarding the class will be sent via email.  Also, after registering please regularly check your spam to ensure that you are receiving emails from MDCVASRP.

Once the online sessions are complete, you will need to sign up for the field training.  NVSC is scheduling on-field clinics at Hellwig Park Turf Fields, options will include:

Jan 15th at 12pm to 4pm (NEW DATE)
Feb 26th at 12pm to 4pm
March 13th at 12pm to 4pm

But you must finish your online portion first before you can sign up for the on-field session you would like to attend.
