The NVSC Jr. Royals 92 are a rising U-17 men’s team competing in the NCSL Division I. As one of the National Capital regions elite teams with a long proud history of consistent high level performance, the team is highly disciplined, stable, and focused on simple execution of the game while maintaining a balanced approach between commitment to the team’s activities and competing outside demands from school and family.
The team is coached by Hans Etienne and managed by Marcie Abel. Coach “Hans” strives to prepare his young men in not only the technical, strategic, and mental aspects of the game, but also in their personal development, academic performance, and acceptance of individual responsibility to the team, themselves, and the community - all of which are needed to make them competitive in the college recruiting environment. His demanding yet supportive relationship with his young men has fostered a close knit bond and unique team camaraderie displayed both on and off the field with special emphasis placed on player-to-coach communications. Manager “Marcie” is the team’s dedicated rudder keeping the team on course by single-handedly managing the entire Jr. Royals 92 program.
The Jr. Royals 92 enjoy close ties to the Northern Virginia FC Royals organization, the MaxTouch Soccer Academy and the renowned Coach Ray Reid from the national champion University of Connecticut Huskies with team summer camps conducted at UCONN under Coach Reid’s guidance.
If you’re interested in playing on a highly disciplined and stable team and you believe you would be a good fit in our organization, please contact Coach Hans because we’re always looking for a few good men…
