For extreme sizing problems, uniforms can be exchanged (full kits-both jerseys & shorts), if UNWORN, by contacting NVSCRecUniforms@gmail.com. Checks should be made payable to NVSC. Directions for uniform pickup and payment will be emailed to you once your request is received. Kits are ONLY sold with all pieces the same size.  Refer to sizing chart (left column) for manufacturer’s measurements. Individual pieces are as follows:

Recreational Team (U4 through U12) picture times will be based on your Saturday game time and to fit schedules for coaches with multiple teams. SFL teams are also scheduled. Travel Teams should contact the NVSC Travel Director at vptravel@novasc.org.

·          Hellwig District, September 25th, Penn Elementary School.
·          Ben Lomond District, October 2nd, Stonewall Middle School.
Pictures are Rain or Shine In the event of inclement weather, the pictures will be taken indoors.  Even if the field site is closed, pictures will still take place.
Time slots are tight. Teams are encouraged to show up and organize 10-15 minutes before their scheduled time.  The coach should notify the Memory Maker site coordinator when they arrive. Do not wait for your entire team to show up before letting the coordinator know you are there.
Memory Makers is the NVSC picture vendor for the Fall 2010 season.  Memory Makers has the ability to accept Credit Cards on site (new feature).
Coaches do have the option to take pictures at either site, if necessary. Coaches should contact Memory Makers in the event of any schedule changes once the schedules are posted.

Recreational Program

The NVSC Recreational Program consists of co-ed, boys and girls youth leagues which are organized by age group (U04, U05, etc.); and a co-ed adult leagues. These leagues are open to all player’s wanting to participate on a recreational team. Players who will turn four years old by the end of the current soccer year are eligible. The soccer year runs from August 1 of one year to July 31 of the following year.

NVSC has two main locations for the recreational program for the convenience of all Prince William County players.  One location is located at Hellwig Park which is off of Route 234 and Bristow Road between Woodbridge and Manassas.  Our other location is Ben Lomond Park (next to Splashdown Waterpark) in Manassas.  You have the choice of which location to sign up their players.

The Recreational Program has two seasons per year, Fall and Spring. Players register by submitting a completed registration form with proper fees.

NVSC also offers a Player Development Academy to its members in the U-7 and U-8 age group (boys and girls). The program is geared toward players that have an interest in the higher level of competition in the Travel Program.

All-star teams are also formed from the players in the Recreational Program and compete in local tournaments.

For information about the NVSC Recreational Program, please email the Hellwig District Recreational Director or the Ben Lomond District Recreational Director..

SOCCER GOAL SAFETY
ALL GOALS MUST BE CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE SECURE, IF NOT, DO NOT USE THEM.
Coaches, managers, players and parents,

Recently, there was an unfortunate incident in Prince William County where an unsecured goal fell over and injured a youth soccer player. I ask you to join NVSC in working together to make this coming season a safe and accident-free season for our players. It is the responsibility of all of us to make that the goals are secured to the ground to prevent them from falling over. This goes for Practice and Games -- under no circumstances should a goal be used if it is not secured. Our coaches and referees have been instructed not to start a game without checking the goals, whether its a home or an away game. Safety extends beyond our home fields and should be a priority no matter where games are played.     All it takes is for a kid to hang on them, for a gust of wind to come up, and while it is an accident, it can be avoided. NVSC has all of the necessary equipment to secure the goals, so there is no reason they should not be secured for play. We need the help of each member of NVSC to make sure that accidents do not happen. Again, this is for both Practice and Games.

For additional information, there are some excellent web sites and below is an excerpt of MYTH vs FACT from the Kwik Goal web site, please click on the Continue.

Again, we ask that all Coaches, Managers, Players, and Parents to support the NVSC goal to make the playing environment safe for our youth.

Bill Gregory
President, NVSC
