The members of Mid-County Soccer Association and the Manassas Area Soccer Association/Manassas Area Travel voted to proceed forward with the merger of the two clubs into a single club - the Northern Virginia Soccer Club (NVSC). Starting Fall of 2007, MCSA/MASA/MATT will merge, providing combined resources of over 50 years of soccer experience. Thanks to all of those who attended the meetings and helped in forming this partnership between the two clubs.  In summary, there will be two recreational programs set up based on geography/location - the Mid-County District Program (run out of Hellwig Park) and the Manassas Area District Program (run our of Ben Lomond Park). The Select (Travel) Program will be combined to support NCSL, WAGSL, and ODSL.

For the Recreational side, registration will be set up so that players can register to play at either Hellwig Park or Ben Lomond Park. For example, if you play at Hellwig now, and want to continue playing at Hellwig, then when you go to register, you will select the Hellwig site as your location. We received a bit of input from members on this issue from the recreational side, and believe that this set-up has satisfied everyone’s concern about playing at different locations than before. The two programs will be run similarly, roster size, rules, uniforms, etc. Some specifics will be grandfathered in for the immediate future, with changes in some aspects as we move forward.

On the Travel side, the larger pool of players to select Club teams from will make these teams more competitive than in the past. Teams will be grandfathered into the new club in terms of uniforms, names, etc... Long term, this provides a better avenue in support of our newly implemented Player Development League for our younger players in their transition to select (travel)l teams.
